Bayt.com’s First Virtual Job Fair for Pakistan Bridges the Gap Between Local Talent and Employers

Bayt.com has been helping job seekers find jobs in Dubai and in the rest of the Middle East for over 2 decades. As a part of their continued commitment to empowering job seekers with the best tools and technology to thrive professionally, Bayt.com held the first-of-its-kind virtual job fair in Pakistan.

Highlights

The virtual event was held from the 12- 14th of August 2015. It was a fantastic way of celebrating the talent in the country, and helping them connect with local employers to explore job opportunities and industry trends. With numerous reputed organizations looking to hire, this event was successful in helping both companies and job seekers in overcoming the obstacles associated with physical job fairs. Thus resulting in improved talent acquisition, seamless communication, and overall mutually beneficial outcomes for all.

The Challenge

The event organizers wanted to host a number of recruiting organizations for aspiring professionals simultaneously and all in one place. The most convenient way to do this was to arrange a physical venue and host an in-person job fair. However, that meant a costlier setup and logistical and geographical barriers. Moreover, an in-person event meant that recruiters would only be able to connect with and interview a limited number of candidates. Interview scheduling, shortlisting candidates, and conducting seminars and panel discussions would’ve been difficult as well.

The event organizers needed a customized virtual platform where they could connect prospective resources with recruiters from all over the country without the need for travel. The platform needed to make connecting and socializing easier for both recruiters and candidates.

The Solution

vFairs was able to come up with a fully customized virtual event platform that checked all the boxes for event hosts. The virtual platform made it possible for recruiters to connect with a diverse pool of candidates, conduct 1:1 virtual interviews through audio and video chat capabilities, and an easy-to-use environment.

1:1 Communication with Audio & Video Chat

The virtual platform had audio, video, and chat capabilities that made social and business networking possible. Recruiters could easily connect with booth visitors and answer their questions through the booth chat box. Moreover, they could also set up 1:1 video interviews with potential candidates. The audio and video chat options made real and live connections possible for effective communication and hiring. Group chat options also promoted social interactions among attendees and created effective networking opportunities for all attendees. Remote access for candidates and recruiters made the event a huge success and the 1:1 communication tools made it even better.

“It’s a big achievement on the whole for the job industry players and job seekers also have the advantage of directly knocking on the door of multinational and local employers. Many of whom even have HR contacts for future correspondence. Employers can portray a true and nice image around the globe among job seekers. They can collect CVs to fill up important roles and at the same time interact with those individuals.”– Mubasshir Hasan Madni from Bayt

Virtual Environment for an In-Person Feel

“The graphics and presentations of the job fair page were amazing. There was an individual information window and accessibility to the employers’ key information required for a job seeker. Even from the starting time, the job fair was crowded with a handsome number of participants with active chats with the representatives of the companies listed there.”- Arif Ullah, Group Coordinator HR, The Bank of Khyber

VJF Hall

vFairs was able to design a custom and easy-to-use virtual environment for the proprietary virtual job fair. The user-friendly interface of the virtual platform made it easy for recruiters to set up available job opportunities, schedule meetings, and share company information. It also made job seeking an easier and less daunting task for attendees at the event.

VJF Lobby

Easy to Explore Options

The exhibit hall was the most significant game changer for this event. Recruiting companies could easily set up their virtual booths, customize their looks, and attract potential talent. Prospective candidates could visit each booth and gather information as required. It saved time for both recruiters and candidates as available job opportunities and company information was easy to locate within the booths. The talent left great feedback on how well-built the platform was and how it helped them find better opportunities than ever before.

“I salute you for this work, it was really nice to see that the companies/brands are with you and they are actually speaking the right thing. Very respectfully I love the platform you created for us. It is outstanding, especially the chat room. This idea was amazing and workable. Thank you Bayt.com for thinking of the betterment of young professionals like me.”- Mubasher Ali, Virtual Job Fair Attendee

Consistent Tech Support

The virtual platform was new and non-tech-savvy candidates could have had a problem navigating the platform. However, the help desk in the main lobby made it easier for all attendees to bypass the technical difficulties and navigate through the platform with ease. vFairs technical support representatives were available to all attendees whenever they needed assistance.

The Result

The event provided employers with never-before access to a very broad pool of talent without any geographical limitations through mobile-platform compatibility on the go. Meanwhile, job seekers were able to network and pitch their skills to influential organizations such as Wi-Tribe, Shell, MCB, Brighto Paints, Carmudi, WorldCall Telecom Limited, Kaymu, Daraz, and Bramerz (just to name a few).

The most prominent features included audio/video/group chat capabilities, an easy-to-navigate virtual environment, and a help desk to provide other related support. With these, the virtual job fair ensured powerful interactions, engagement, candidate screening, and exchange of valuable information amongst all. Some important takeaway stats from the event were:

  • Total Registrations: 7,642
  • Total Event Visits: 7,943
  • Total Booth Visits: 11,469
  • Number of Employers: 18
  • Average Visits/Booth: 638
  • 30% of job seeker traffic came from the mobile site set-up for the virtual event

With evident proof that the local talent has a keen interest in virtual job fairs, Bayt.com looks forward to organizing many other events to play its part in uniting hiring managers and skilled professionals.
