BiP Solutions, established in 1984 aims at connecting the public and private sectors. After 37 years in the market, they are the leading provider of procurement support and intelligence. BiP provides events and consultancy services and the Local Government Procurement Expo (LGPE) is part of that service.
BiP Solutions is at the heart of buyer and supplier relationships. The annual LGPE gets to the core of the challenges and opportunities available to local UK government procurement and supplier workplace. Other events focus on training, consultancy, and other aspects of procurement.
Initially, when COVID-19 brought the world to its knees, BiP Solutions faced a huge blow as well. They were already done with all preparations for their events. However, since BiP was serving the local government sector, completely shutting down was not an option. They needed alternatives that would serve their purpose.
After much research and various demo sessions and discussions with about 10 virtual event providers, BiP opted for vFairs for their virtual conference. They required big exhibitions, with up to 120 exhibition stands. “A visually appealing set up which resembles the live event and is not just a series of boxes with company logos on them” said Laura Aitkenhead, Events Development Manager. vFairs was the only one out of the rest which provided the flexibility BiP virtual events were looking for and hence was locked in as their virtual event provider.
BiP virtual events aim at connecting buyers and suppliers. The virtual events platforms were designed to focus on this goal. vFairs and the BiP team put together key features which facilitated interaction among both, plus also created engagement. For instance, the gamification feature boosted participation on the platform. Attendees were given points for visiting a booth, downloading a video or completing one of many other actions. This encouraged attendees to cover maximum virtual ground.
Overall, BiP saw the attendance and reach increase with virtual events right from the start. From their first event and till the most recent one, this was one benefit they enjoyed the most. They never had the same attendee count with in-person events. So far, they have hosted about seven virtual events with vFairs, and they keep getting better and better.
The entire platform also had multiple areas for sponsorship advertisement as well. Throughout the lobby, the exhibit hall and even the auditorium, sponsor logos were clearly displayed as well.
BiP virtual events provided the team with exceptional analysis that was never a possibility in their in-person events. The maximum they could do was get the headcount per webinar. But that was always a rough figure. To know how long each attendee was at the event, and how many attended a particular webinar gave insights into the virtual event at a deeper level.
The prompt and efficient reporting and analytics were greatly valued by the team at BiP. They found the information to be of great use for their future events. It allowed them to build on it and improve on future events.
