Essity hosted its Sustainability Days from the 27th to the 29th of June, 2022. This event’s sessions will remain live till the 31st of December, so that visitors can learn about sustainable strategy, an approach to diversity, and learn about different industry participant perspectives.
For Essity’s Business Unit Consumer Goods (CG), sustainability is not just one single promo, activity, innovation or one call to the customer. It is each of our big and small steps we are making every day to drive environmental awareness and action. That’s why this year’s Consumer Goods Sustainability and Well-being Days follow the motto #EarthDayEveryDay.
The three-day internal event aimed to engage and inform CG employees about the Business Unit’s sustainability strategy and projects and about Essity’s approach to Diversity. For even more insights, it included valuable external perspectives from global and European organizations, FMCG companies, market research institutions and from our customers. The event was part of Essity’s commitment to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
This was the first time Essity hosted an event using an external platform. This was particularly challenging due to the strict rules of data protection and privacy involved. Once the event was legally approved, the organizers did their research and found vFairs to be the best option.
They made this choice because of how easy the platform was to use and understand. In addition, it got a very professional impression of the company, and saw that it had good references and excellent testimonials.
Essity used a variety of features for its event. This event was aimed at Essity employees, and the company wanted to make things as engaging as possible. So, vFairs offered them a number of different resources to avail.
The event mainly consisted of speaker sessions across all three days. Expert speakers briefed the employees and educated them about sustainability in their respective fields. Then, these webinars ended with Q&A sessions, where attendees could clear up any concerns or questions. Most of these talks were live, while one was pre-recorded. However, all of them are available on demand for Essity employees to refer to later.
The organization wanted to make sure their employees had a good time at the event. Therefore, they opted for the vFairs photo booth. There, employees could take selfies and post them for others to see. This led to a photo gallery where everyone could come away with good memories of the event.
To keep things engaging, Essity also included a scavenger hunt for its employees. They had to find various items in the virtual event, and get points accordingly. This was quite appreciated, and was a well-deserved break from the educational and informational sessions.
The attendees were quite impressed by the option to download resources and materials from the event. Their swag bags allowed them to save these resources, and then refer to them later. This feature is quite useful for anyone on the go.
The event organizers found that networking lounges were a great way for attendees to interact closely with industry experts. They had various lounge sessions to promote networking and communication. Attendees were able to ask questions and also get more information this way. In addition, they were able to make industry connections as well.
The Consumer Goods Sustainability and Well-Being Days proved to be quite successful for Essity. The company was able to bring its employees on board without having to worry about clashing schedules or other such concerns. The virtual nature of the conference allowed everyone to attend at their own convenience, with the sessions available on-demand as well till 31st December, 2022.
