On 16th and 17th November, 2022 the vFairs team attended a very happening in-person event in London, and the team had much to share from the event. We were able to connect with a few of our existing customers and collect a lot of leads through Event Tech Live London 2022.
In-person events are back and there is a lot that event professionals can take away from such events. Here is a quick rundown for everything we experienced at Event Tech Live and recommendations for making your in-person event participation even better!
Event Tech Live was a key event for event professionals as it connected top event industry professionals from around the globe. vFairs joined the event as an exhibitor and the team had a great experience in the two-day event. Here are a few top event highlights and takeaways from the London event.
In-person events are back after a while and Event Tech Live London 2022 was one of the top attractions for event professionals in the UK and around. The event aimed to bring together event professionals and focus on networking and good business partnerships. Here is a quick recap of the event according to our team on ground:
The First Sight Media team was live at the event and conducted interviews with representatives from different exhibitors. Katy Simkiss, Senior Account Executive from vFairs also shared her thoughts on the growing popularity of hybrid events. Katy talked about the innumerable and effective third-party integrations that vFairs offers to make sure your hybrid events can level their game up.
The interview was a fantastic opportunity to talk about vFairs and get more attendee attraction to the booth. You can watch the complete interview here:
The vFairs booth gave away micro succulents as a giveaway at the event for their booth visitors. The succulents were a big hit among the attendees and brought more people into the booth. Event swag is what the attendees are going to talk about the most even after the event is over. Moreover, it was also a great conversation starter for the sales reps at the booth to break the ice with booth visitors.
Unique and fun booth swag might not be the most important consideration for exhibitors, but they can make a lot of difference. The more memorable you can make your event booth swag, the more brand retention it can offer!
Event Tech Live London 2022 also had a segment for Event Technology Awards which were open to voting online through their website. vFairs was also nominated for a few awards such as the Best Hybrid Event Platform/Production, Best Event Networking Technology, Best Conference Technology, Best Exhibition Technology, Best Virtual Event Platform, etc. The winners were awarded on Day 1 of the event.
In-person events have changed for the better and novel tech stacks have evolved how attendees come to in-person events and what they expect from them. The vFairs team has a few takeaways from their experience at Event Tech Live London 2022.
With large events like ETL, there are bound to be a lot of similar booths. So, to make sure that your booth stands out, you have to think of something that adds value to the attendee’s experience and also makes your booth memorable.
A well-designed and large backdrop can make a big difference to make your booth stand out. Event swag like the micro-succulents vFairs used, hoodies, pens, or other giveaways can attract more people to your booth as well. You can also add screens to your booth and run a slideshow with important information or impressive stats.
Getting a bigger booth won’t amount to anything if you don’t utilize the entire space that you’re paying for. You need to plan and distribute the space between all the booth reps, standees, LED screens, event swag, etc. Empty space in your booth will not only be a waste of money but it can also make you look unimpressive and unprepared. Don’t be afraid to invest a little more on extra chairs and tables on the spot if you think you need them to fill out the empty space!
Booth location can be a make or break for you as an exhibitor so make sure you choose the spot wisely. A booth in a more key location may cost more than others, but it can be totally worth it. You don’t want to end up in a corner and not get any organic attendee footfall in your spot.
The vFairs team chose a bigger booth near the main stage of the event. This put us front and center throughout the event and we were able to attract more people who came to look at the stage.
Last minute additions and improvisation might not always go your way. It is important to plan your live event days in advance and make sure you have all that you need from event swag supplies to rep support and availability. In-person events can be tiring so make sure you have enough people in your booth to allow each other breaks in the middle. The on-ground teams should work well together and stay focused throughout the event.
In-person events don’t have to be unsustainable or environmentally degrading. As an attendee, a host, or an exhibitor, you need to make greener choices when attending. Attendees and exhibitors can share materials and brochures through email or other digital means to avoid having to print more paper than required.
There should also be a proper waste management, disposal, and recycling mechanism in place. If we all understand our own responsibility in making in-person events greener and sustainable, it can make the most difference.
Event Tech Live London 2022 was a successful event for vFairs as an exhibitor as we were able to connect with new potential customers and some existing ones as well. In-person events can be a fantastic way to pulse-check with your target audience and make sure that your messaging is going across correctly.
Sales pitches and lead generation results from in-person events might be a lot more memorable than just cold calls or emails which can feel somewhat robotic. The vFairs team had a great time and we’re looking forward to more events like this one.
