The hybrid event will offer brain injury survivors, family members, health care service providers, employees and legal professionals.

Ottawa, ON – Vista Centre Brain Injury Services has announced they will host their 12th Brain Injury Awareness Day on June 14, 2023. The event will take place both in-person, at the St. Elias Centre in Ottawa, and online through the vFairs virtual event platform. The event is free to attend and those interested can register here.

Brain Injury Awareness Day will bring brain injury survivors, family members, health care service providers, employees and legal professionals together to experience a unique combination of teaching and testimony delivered first-hand by those whose personal and professional lives are directly affected by brain injury.

This year, Vista Centre Brain Injury Services are truly excited to have Carl Dixon, rock legend and lead singer of Coney Hatch, deliver an insightful and inspiring keynote address. Additional topics discussed will include The Dignity and Risk of Brain Injury; Evaluating Care After TBI Through the Provincial Report Card; and a series of presentations by uOttawa Community Service Student Learning Projects.

“Brain Injury Awareness Day offers  a unique and valuable opportunity for survivors, family members, health care and legal professionals as well as the community to spend a day together to learn, network and refresh their commitment to improve the quality of life of those affected by brain injury,” says Tammy Kuchynski, Program Manager.

“We are very happy to provide technology that assists in connecting those affected by brain injury, working in the industry, and studying in the field to learn and discuss how to improve care,” says Muhammad Younas, CEO at vFairs. “We look forward to supporting Vista Centre Brain Injury Services for BIA Day.”
