Career fairs are an effective medium for recruiters to build a solid pipeline of relevant candidates.
While advanced career fair platforms provide tools to not only collect resumes but also interview and shortlist the candidates during the event, the drill doesn’t end there.
It’s an ongoing process. If you want to build a long relationship with the job seekers you interacted with during the career fair, then having a curated follow-up strategy is important.
This blog has got all the email templates that you’ll need to make your follow-up swift. Let’s dig in!
As a recruiter, you’ve really got two main ways to follow up with candidates: follow-up emails after the career fair and phone calls.
Some people swear by phone calls. They feel more personal, and it’s easier to explain tricky or complex information in real time. Plus, it helps cut down on the endless back-and-forth that sometimes happens over email.
But here’s the catch: calls from unknown numbers can feel intrusive or even stressful in some cultures.
Not everyone loves picking up a surprise call, especially if it’s their first interaction with you.
That’s where email comes in. While it can’t fully replace the warmth of a phone conversation, email is often the better choice for that initial outreach. It gives candidates time to read, think, and respond when it suits them. It’s also perfect for reaching out to multiple people at once, and you can use it to set up a call or interview down the line.
So, the best approach? Start with email to break the ice and schedule the next steps. Then use the phone to build a deeper connection once you’ve established some rapport.
A thoughtful, well-written career fair follow-up email to a candidate helps reinforce your company’s brand, builds trust, and increases the chances of getting a response.
Your email copy needs to have the following to qualify for a perfect email:
In a corporate environment, recruitment experts can sometimes get so overwhelmed with their daily hustle that they struggle to curate new email copies for every new candidate.
To ensure you are not neglecting some high-potential candidates in your pipeline or investing too much valuable time in crafting unique emails, we have crafted some email templates from a recruiter’s point of view.
Let’s explore different career fair follow-up email examples and understand how they can be personalized to fit our “messaging style.”
