Nestlé Hellas S.A is a market of Nestlé based in Athens, Greece. The company was founded over 150 years ago and strives to shape a better and healthier world. They run an initiative called the Nestlé Needs YOUth program, which helps young people gain access to apprenticeships, traineeships and job opportunities by empowering them with the skills they need to thrive. Their goal is to help 10 million young people across the world access economic opportunities by 2030 through employment and employability, agripreneurship, and entrepreneurship.
The Nestlé Green Skills Week 2022 event was set up to help support the goals of the Nestlé Needs YOUth program. The goal of the event itself was to help young people develop themselves in a way that will help them find a job and kickstart their career. This applied to youth across Greece.
The team at Nestlé Hellas S.A. had originally learned about vFairs through other markets in Nestlé who had already used it. This was their second time using vFairs in Greece, as they’d already hosted one event with vFairs in 2021. Going into this year’s event, they were quite familiar with what to expect from the vFairs platform and services.
The easy to use platform for both users and admininatrators, multiple functionalities, and the fact that other Nestlé markets had already tested and approved it had all contributed to the choice to pursue vFairs as a platform for their past two events.
The Nestlé Green Skills Week event was not only able to reach youth in locations across Greece, it was also received extremely well.
Christina Michalopoulou, Recruitment Marketing and Capability Building Specialist Specialist noted, “Most of the feedback was very positive, with attendees thanking us for hosting this event and congratulating the presenters. The average overall score of the event was 4.8/5!”
So, what contributed to the success of this event? Here are a few key factors…
The fact that the event was hosted virtually allowed the team to promote to a larger audience of youth across Greece. Whereas an in-person event would have limited access to those living locally, or youth who had the means to travel to Athens to attend. This was key in amplifying the reach of the event.
The event was easy to navigate, creating a positive user experience for the attendees. Additionally, the setup was simple and easy which made the Nestlé team’s jobs and experience much easier too.
Attendees at the Nestlé Green Skills Week were able to interact with Nestlé experts through series of interactive presentations within the virtual auditorium. Experts spoke on topics outlining sustainable carer paths, and attendees were encouraged to ask questions and interact with the presenters during the live presentations.

For Nestlé, one great benefit of hosting their event with vFairs was their dedicated project manager, Shayan, who helped them set up the event every step of the way. In fact, Christina noted, “Shayan was very quick and helpful, and knows her way around the vFairs functionalities perfectly.”
One of the well-received aspects of the event were the reporting tools, which offered the hosts a chance to deep dive into the event results. The reporting tools offered an in-depth look at how the event performed, attendee logins, webinar visits and even individual user journeys to see how people navigated through the event and how long they spent at each place.
In the future, Christina says that Nestlé plans to host events with a virtual element as part of it. “Specifically hybrid events that will combine physical presence with live broadcast through an interactive virtual platform,” says Christina.
Having hosted an event with such high magnitude, and reaching so many additional youth across Greece through the Nestlé Green Skills Week, we understand why!
