BioMarine brings together the worlds of business, investment, and research. It has a socioeconomic approach to business development, especially with small innovative companies working on ocean-related projects. It firmly believes that the oceans have a lot to offer, and are essential for guaranteeing a healthy planet. Therefore, it focuses on uniting the key actors of blue challenges, and building a solid foundation for the industry.
Seaweed Around The Clock is one of its events centered around the seaweed sector, and its massive potential. This was the second edition of the event, and resulted in very fruitful sessions and discussions.
Seaweed Around The Clock was a 24-hour live event, with a number of sessions going on virtually. The organization decided to go virtual as it wanted to reach out to the maximum number of people and have active discussions happening. Covid had played a major role in taking this event virtual, but BioMarine was impressed with the significant increase in audience they got by moving away from purely physical events.
The organization found vFairs through extensive online research, and felt that this was the right platform for their needs. Its user-friendly navigation and wow factor with the immersive environments made vFairs the natural choice.
The organizers availed a number of excellent features from the vFairs roster. These features helped them get high audience numbers and engagement at their event.
The auditorium had an active rotation of sessions going on throughout the event. The keynote speakers for the welcome session included HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. After that, there were numerous sessions and discussions about the seaweed industry, its sustainability, its opportunities, and much more.
The hosts of the event opted for two exhibit halls. One of these halls held all the exhibitors, which included businesses working in the seaweed sector. These businesses presented what they were doing, and also held meetings with attendees and other stakeholders.
The second exhibit hall was titled the Seaweed Telethon and linked out to a couple of movies related to the seaweed industry. Both these halls depicted the potential of the sector quite well.
Seaweed Around The Clock also had a networking lounge, where people could meet the speakers, other attendees, or the exhibitors. This lounge included profile search and chat features, so that people could interact more actively.
The CEO of BioMarine, Veronique Erwes, commented that the communication features and the quality of the event platform stood out for her. These features meant that more attendees and exhibitors could participate from all over the world. The attendees also appreciated the online nature of the event, and enjoyed all the features included.
The hosts wanted an interactive event, with numerous attendees. They got ten times the number of attendees they usually got from physical events, and planned to incorporate more engagement features next time to maximize the results from larger audiences.
