The Challenges
JVS aimed to make their attendee’s experience easy onsite without having to wait in long queues as well as track engagement & all data for their in-person job fairs.
Ease for Onsite Attendees with Registration & Check-in
JVS had a goal of ensuring convenience and a pleasant experience for their attendees who were physically present at the event location. To achieve this, they aimed to implement measures that would streamline the check-in process and minimize the time attendees spent waiting in lines.
One way JVS wanted to enhance the check-in experience was by using a feature that would facilitate a smooth and efficient registration process. This could involve utilizing technology such as check-in systems, mobile apps, or self-service kiosks. By automating the check-in process, attendees could swiftly provide their information, receive their event badges, and proceed to the event without unnecessary delays.
Increased Networking & Connecting Job Seekers with Employers
To improve networking at the JVS hybrid job fair, overcoming the obstacle of physical distance between onsite and remote attendees was vital. The goal was to ensure seamless interaction and connection-making between job seekers and employers. Recognizing this requirement, vFairs emerged as the solution provider, offering a networking experience that bridged the gap between the two groups.

The Solution
Quick Self-Check-In & Badge Printing
JVS loved how they could easily use the mobile event app to quickly check attendees in with personalized QR codes. They also reduced wait times with the self-check-in option where attendees can quickly scan and go. Moreover, this feature helped them automatically track attendance rates with a check-in app. The QR code scanning in the mobile app helped onsite attendees to enter the site by simply scanning the code and getting their badge.
Connecting Users Through Onsite & Online Networking
Networking features also helped employers and job seekers to track who they interacted with at the event and follow up with them later. Moreover, by introducing QR codes and downloadable contact cards, employers and job seekers could effortlessly exchange contact information. Virtual attendees were also empowered to connect on a one-to-one basis through various communication channels, including text, audio, and video.
Why vFairs?
JVS hosted its first virtual job fair with vFairs 5 years ago. This time, their main aim was to connect pre-arrival newcomers to employers and help them connect and network with each other. Therefore, they aimed to go for a hybrid event to cater to both on-site and virtual attendees and turned to vFairs, inspired by their successful hybrid events.
In the Spotlight: Mobile App
The vFairs mobile app revolutionized JVS Toronto events by significantly improving networking, which was a key objective. Attendees were able to easily keep track of their interactions and follow up with individuals they connected with. Additionally, on-site attendees greatly appreciated the convenience of QR code scanning, which streamlined the check-in process.
The Results
Beyond this, vFairs did wonders for the hybrid event by ensuring incredible event experiences for candidates, regardless of location. Job seekers and employers interacted with each other through vFairs top-notch networking features. The onsite event was a success too. Here are some key statistics:
