The African American Alliance for Homeownership Will Host Its 23rd Annual Virtual Fair with vFairs as Event Technology Partner

The African American Alliance for Homeownership’s 23rd Annual Homeownership Fair is virtual again this year.  The Fair attracts new homebuyers & current homeowners in an ever-changing market!

PORTLAND – African American Homeownership Fair to Focus on Homeownership Retention and Energy Efficient upgrades, while continuing to close the homeownership gap for Black Oregonians!!

With the homeownership rate for African Americans in Portland still lagging below the national average, AAAH still finds the number of foreclosure victims higher than average.  On the flip side, more prospective buyers are trying to take advantage of the first-time homebuyer programs, despite the rising cost of housing and interest rates.

This year’s Homeownership Fair is scheduled for Sat., November 5 from 10 am to 2:00pm on the vFairs virtual platform. The event is FREE and OPEN to the public.  Pre-registration is required and you can register here.

The 2022 Fair Platform will feature exhibitors such as professional housing lenders and realtors. Fair goers will be able to access the exhibits by clicking on the booths, participating in a live chat, or downloading valuable information provided by each vendor. The day will host live webinars on The Homebuying Process; Foreclosure Prevention, Building & Protecting Black Wealth, and Power to the People PDX.

Organizers with the African American Alliance for Homeownership (AAAH) hope those who take the first step by attending the FREE fair will continue to make progress towards buying a home long after the fair.  AAAH has counseled over 9,000 individuals facing foreclosure and provided first time homebuyer and home retention services to over 1,800 families.

AAAH is a non-profit HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency that provides pre & post purchase counseling, 8-hour HUD certified homebuyer education, mortgage default/loss mitigation counseling, and financial assistance for first-time homebuyers. AAAH services are FREE and open to the public.  AAAH is also an equal housing opportunity agency.

This year’s Fair platform presents a perfect opportunity for AAAH to interact with fair goers and provide personalized direction.  This will include AAAH’s IDA program for first time home purchases/repair, solar and energy efficient installs, or electric vehicle purchases, Homebuyer Education/Counseling, Foreclosure and Home Retention Services, Power to the People Program and Direct Financial Assistance.  With the support of our Fair sponsors, AAAH will help so many realize the American Dream of owning and maintaining a home.
