Uprooted Academy has Announced the “Major & Career Discovery Fair” to be Held on March 16, 2024, with vFairs

Los Angeles, CA – Uprooted Academy has announced its upcoming virtual event, Major & Career Discovery Fair, which will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM EDT. The event is dedicated to empowering high school students from low-income and diverse backgrounds, first-generation college-bound students, families navigating the college application process, early college students, and educators in under-resourced schools. Interested participants can register here.

This event will feature panels and speakers from various industries, providing a unique opportunity for students to learn about diverse career options and engage with professors and working professionals throughout different industries. The goal is to enhance career clarity and exposure to different career paths in a chosen industry.

Founder & CEO Tiffany Green dreams of a world where students no longer have to journey through their future alone. “I envision a world where having to figure out your future is not a process a student has to do alone. All students, regardless of race, educational legacy, or income, will have the social capital or the playbook needed to feel confident to apply to any school or boot camp they want.”

Uprooted Academy recognizes the challenges faced by minority and low-income students in terms of career clarity. Despite increased enrollment in college, those with low levels of career clarity still experience lower graduation rates. Statistics reveal significant enrollment gaps compared to white and higher-income students, emphasizing the need for initiatives like The Uprooted Academy Major & Career Discovery Fair.
