The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) Hybrid Annual Health Conference will attract leading researchers, students, NGOs, and healthcare professionals from around the world.

Kingston, Jamaica – The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has partnered with the Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Health and Wellness to host the first-ever hybrid conference in over six decades. The 66th Annual Health Research Conference will take place from 15th – 17th September, 2022.

The theme for this year’s conference is “COVID-19 and Digital Health: Transforming, Connecting, Informing Public Health”. Under this theme, the 3-day hybrid conference offers a rich programme of speakers, exhibitions, and a variety of presentations.

The Annual Health Research Conference will be a great platform for disseminating, sharing, and discussing the latest research in digital health. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge for the world and the conference aims to help adopt the changing trends and the technology used for the spread of global health information.

The conference is one of the biggest and longest-running events in the English-speaking part of the Caribbean and Latin America. It aims to bring together regional and international healthcare professionals, NGOs, students, academics, and researchers. It has lined up subject matter experts as keynote speakers for the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The speakers at the hybrid conference are:

  • Dr Joy St. John, Executive Director, CARPHA
  • Dr. C James Hospedales, Founder EarthMedic and EarthNurse
  • Professor Victor S Blanchette, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Toronto
  • Professor Seeromanie Harding, Professor of Social Epidemiology, King’s College, London
  • Ms. Loyce Pace, MPH, Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs (OGA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Apart from the speaker lineup, the conference will also host exhibitors from the Caribbean and the rest of the world. They will get a chance to showcase their latest digital health research and innovative products through vendor and sponsor booths.

Executive Director of CARPHA, Dr. Joy St. John said: “This 66th CARPHA Annual Health Research Conference is the first hybrid format conference in the six decade history of the event. CARPHA is passionate about showcasing and encouraging the conduct of research in the Region. Over the three days, we have a chance to enjoy the research findings that will be presented by our very own researchers: students, young researchers, research stalwarts. The good thing about this conference is the perfect blend of youth and experience, which makes for an exciting glimpse of the Caribbean from a researcher’s perspective.”

Mohammad Younas, CEO of vFairs also added, “The pandemic and the subsequent vaccination drives are still a challenge for many parts of the world. vFairs is thrilled to be part of the solution by offering the technology to host such events.”

The 66th Annual CARPHA Health Research Conference will happen from 15th-17th September 2022. Interested candidates can look through the agenda and register for the event here.
